Industry thought leaders, personalities and enthusiasts gathered on Thursday 10 November at Sans Souci, Buenos Aires for an event of relevance to the blockchain-crypto industry, which unveiled the new brand identity and future of Rootstock and Rootstock Infrastructure Framework (RIF).
LATAM, 11 November 2022. The first ever Rootstock Summit, which took place on Thursday 10 November at Sans Souci, Buenos Aires, brought together blockchain-crypto industry specialists and enthusiasts to unveil the new brand identity and future of Rootstock and Rootstock Infrastructure Framework (RIF).
The event kicked off the next phase of Rootstock’s history by giving greater ownership of the brand to the community, with open source marketing materials and brand assets open for anyone in the community to use and create their own content. The topics covered in the different talks were: Security, Interoperability, Scalability, DeFi in Bitcoin, Decentralisation and Identity, Society & Culture.
Following the announcement made at the event, the City of Buenos Aires and Extrimian through QuarkID, which seeks to establish self-sufficient identity management with the help of decentralised technology, will be launching by February 2023 a self-sufficient digital ID solution to help the citizens of Buenos Aires keep their identities off-chain.
The RIF product roadmap was also revealed, with the product strategy constructed with the purpose to offer products and technologies that enable Everyday DeFi. The concept of Everyday DeFi is a vision for decentralized finance accessible to everyone in the world, bringing in the unbanked and underbanked in emerging economies. It was also announced that RIF would soon be launching a DAO.
Rootstock co-founder Diego Gutiérrez Zaldívar said at the event: “Today there is a community of developers and entrepreneurs who are building solutions on top of Rootstock, and all of them in a way are also owners of the brand. Rootstock’s new image was chosen by the community because Rootstock belongs to the community”.
During the event, talks were given on fusion mining and its importance, the present and future of Bitcoin mining and PoW, opportunities and risks in a multi-chain world, stable assets in an unstable world, self-sovereign identity and Taringa!’s journey towards an economy of passion, among other topics addressed by the specialists working on Rootstock:
